Welcome to Parkinson’s Support Group in Larimer County

In the United States, it has been estimated that more than 1 million people have Parkinson’s Disease (PD). In Colorado the estimate is 15,000 and in Larimer County there are at least 900 living with this chronic disease.

The Parkinson’s Support Group in Larimer County (PSGLC) has more than 100 members including PD patients, their caregivers, family and friends, health professionals and other interested parties.

Normally, the Larimer County Parkinson’s Support meeting is held the first Wednesday of each month at:

Visitors and newcomers are always welcome. There is no admission charge. And for now, we are streaming the presentation portion of these monthly meetings on Zoom – details are in our newsletter.

    The Buddy System in Parkinson's:  How Bicycling Can Add to Our Network Support

    Through the City of FC Moves department’s Bike Buddy Program riders can get individualized attention that is sometimes needed to learn about everything from fix a flat to wayfinding the safest route. This presentation will cover the details of that program, and how to get involved. We will also talk about the different types of e-bikes, 3-wheel bikes, stationary bikes, and what to expect from them.

    Lauren, an Active Modes Specialist in FC Moves, has worked for the City of Fort Collins for almost 9 years. Car free for over 15 years, Lauren only recently bought an electric vehicle. During this time spent car free, Lauren has been able to ride just about everywhere in Fort Collins and in Northern Colorado, and plans on bringing this expertise to you in order to help you work on solutions for incorporating biking into your life.
